Raised to Life for our Justification: Romans 4:25 (Eastside/Sun AM/Easter/March 31, 2013)
Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. -Galatians 3:21-
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. -James 2:10-
As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. -Romans 3:10-11-
All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." -Romans 3:12-
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. -John 3:18-
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. -Romans 4:25-
Our death became his death.
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. -Romans 4:25-
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? -Romans 8:32-
Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. -Isaiah 53:10-
After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. -Isaiah 53:11-
The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life--only to take it up again. -John 10:17-
No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father." -John 10:18-
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. -Romans 5:8-
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. -2 Corinthians 5:21-
"He himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; "by his wounds you have been healed." -1 Peter 2:24-
His life becomes our life.
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.-Romans 4:25-
By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. -1 Corinthians 6:14-
If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. -1 Corinthians 15:19-
But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. -1 Corinthians 15:20-
For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. -1 Corinthians 15:21-22-
and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ--the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. -Philippians 3:9-
Jesus Christ took our death that he might give us his life.
What does Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." -Romans 4:3-
Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. -Romans 4:4-
However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. -Romans 4:5-
The words "it was credited to him" were written not for him alone, -Romans 4:23-
but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness--for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. -Romans 4:24-
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. -Romans 4:25-
Main Idea
Through faith, Jesus Christ has taken our death, so that he might give us his life.

“The Gospel Story: Our Response to the Gospel”
In response to the Gospel message, there are always two possible roads…
Road # 1: Reject Jesus and continue to live your life your own way. Proverbs 14:12, John 3:36,
Road #2: Submit to Jesus as your King and trust him to bring you to God.
1: We must submit to Jesus as our King = Repentance Acts 17:30, 2 Corinthians 7:10
2: We must trust in Jesus’ death and resurrection for our salvation = Faith Acts 20:21, Romans 10:14, John 3:36, John 14:6, Romans 3:10-12, Acts 16:14
Main Idea: In order to be forgiven by God and receive eternal life, we must submit to the Lord Jesus Christ and rely on his life, death, and resurrection for our salvation.
